About 150 American forces have arrived in Poland, one of the western neighbors of Ukraine. They are part of the first contingent of around six-hundred U-S troops who will conduct military exercises across Eastern Europe over the next month. In the meantime, Russia’s southern military command says it’s conducted military exercises in its south-eastern Rostov region, which borders Ukraine. All this, as tensions have already soared between the U-S and Russia over the crisis in Ukraine. Washington accuses Moscow of violating Ukraine’s sovereignty by stirring up pro-Russia protests in eastern Ukraine. Russia denies this, saying the protests have begun spontaneously against what it calls the illegitimate interim government in Kiev.
