Russia says it has deployed troops near the border with Ukraine as precautionary measures to ensure Moscow’s security. A spokesman to Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine is simmering in instability and Russia, as a sovereign state, has the right to station troops anywhere it sees necessary. - Never trust the war propaganda coming out of NATO! In war propaganda, you paint yourself as the victim reacting defensively to the actions of the aggressive enemy. The 40,000 figures is highly suspect. I believe the Russians are on alert because they know the west intends to drag Russia into a World War. As for how many troops are deployed near Ukraine borders: there are definitely some. As for ‘near’ Ukraine border, you have to define ‘near’. Is 50km considered near? After all, motorized infantry and armour columns can travel 50kms in one hour.
