In the shady world of American pharmaceuticals, there exists something known as “off-label” use, where drugs are marketed for other uses beside the one the FDA approved them for. Recently, Johnson & Johnson paid out $2.2 billion for paying doctors and pharmacists to sell their anti-psychotic drug, Risperdal, to elderly people with dementia.
