This latest revelation only confirms what this independent website and others were saying at the time on the alleged chemical weapons attack in Damascus in August 2013. We knew the narrative was conjured up at the time and said so, and now 3 months later – so does everyone else.

Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has dropped the ultimate bomb this week regarding our governments’ the incessant drive for war in Syria – one which nearly saw the Middle East cascade towards World War Three. Hersh’s conclusion is based on the real facts: despite all the confident talk, both US President Barack Obama and John Kerry had nothing. Their ‘intelligence reports were sexed-up, full of cherry-picked, less than half-baked information which was reassembled to look as if it were somehow conclusive.

To call this situation pathetic is a grave understatement. It was perhaps the embarrassing moment in US intelligence history when US Secretary of State John Kerry took to the podium and proudly referred to his tranche of YouTube videos and social media clipping as ‘Open Source Evidence’.

In addition to the blatant White House and State Department lies connected to this volatile situation, the corporate press also went along for the ride. Specifically, both the Washington Post and the New York Times participated in the intelligence fraud which was designed for no other reason other than to willfully deceive the American people and the world. You can also count the BBC and other major media outlets in that group who were simply parroting government propaganda on this important issue.

Looking at this example – more than any other, it is abundantly clear that the press is in no way, shape, or form a ‘watchdog’ any longer in the current American power structure…
