  On Sunday, December 15, in response to the approved NATO missile deployments to the Turkey-Syria border, Helga Zepp-LaRouche warned of the immediate and increasing threat of thermo-nuclear war. Lyndon LaRouche responded, emphasizing that thermo-nuclear war was not only possible, but was now an increasing probability. This threat has not gone unnoticed by international leaders, yet the leadership of the United States under Obama, as well as the bureaucrats of Europe, have failed to heed these warnings, and so blindly threaten mankind with their stupidity and cowardice.

  Speaking to the leading Iranian military and security personnel over the weekend at a national military college, Iranian Army Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, regarding the deployments of Patriot missile defense-systems and military troop-support to Turkey from Germany, Holland and the United States, stated the obvious:

  “It is very worrisome. Each one of these Patriots is a black mark on the world map and is meant to cause a world war. And unfortunately, everyday, a Western country approves the deployment of Patriots along the Syrian-Turkish border. They are actually planning a world war, and this is very dangerous for the future of humanity and for the future of Europe itself.”

  “The Patriots will not create security, but rather they will constitute threats. An experienced military man and a strategist can easily figure out the scenario and predict such a painful future. The intelligentsia and intellectuals in Europe, the United States, and Turkey should extinguish this fire themselves before another fire breaks out, which no one will be able to put out.”

  The Iranian leadership is not alone in recognizing the threat of world war.   In a statement yesterday, Russian strategic assessment made clear that the patriot missile systems are not, and cannot be the result of any weapons threat from Syria, and so must be aimed at Iran and Russia, to prevent retaliation when pre-emptively attacked by US or NATO-British forces.

  We are facing today what became known later as the “Guns of August” of World War I, i.e. the machinery of modern warfare and the repeated strategic failures in the form of pathological delusion, which leads to a war that becomes unstoppable. The conditions have again been created under the current British controlled, Saudi-Obama foreign policy directives, this time in the cock-pit of Southwest Asia. As a result of the insanity of the current U.S. President, Mr. LaRouche warned, this war may start merely through the increasing desperation from the economic and financial collapse.
