    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the phase of intense fighting against Hamas is coming to an end and now the Israeli Army will move to the north. M. Netanyahu has effectively announced the start of operations in Lebanon against Hezbollah, forcing the US to issue new warnings about the situation in the Middle East.

    Once heavy fighting in Gaza ends, Netanyahu stressed, that will allow Israel to deploy more forces along its northern border with Lebanon, where fighting has escalated with the Shiite militant group Hezbollah.

    “After the phase of heavy fighting is over, we will have the possibility to move part of the forces to the north. And we will do that. First and foremost for defense purposes. And secondly, to bring our residents (who have been displaced due to the fighting) back to their homes     ,” Netanyahu said in an interview with the Israeli Channel 14 television network.

    “If we can, we will achieve this diplomatically. If not, we will do it another way. But we will bring (the residents) back to their homes” , he stressed.

    We remind you that last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an ultimatum to Lebanon: either Hezbollah flees beyond the Litani River, or the Israeli army begins a military operation on Lebanese soil.

    The Israeli Army is preparing for a new operation “Litany”. The same operation was carried out in 1978. It began on the morning of March 14, 1978 and 25,000 Israelis participated. It was named after the river of the same name in South Lebanon.
