  China is expanding testing for its #digital currency payment system, known as the Digital Currency Electronic Payment, or #DECP, to include the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the pilot regions in the central and western regions where conditions permit. How has the digital yuan, first released for trial operations in April, fared so far? What is the second round of testing intended to prove? Will DCEP help the internationalization of the RMB and if so, could it become an international alternative to the U.S. dollar?
