  John McLaughlin And John Brennan Celebrated The CIA Whistleblower—Who Is Now Reportedly Getting Cold Feet.

  Former CIA directors John McLaughlin and John Brennan have openly admitted this week that the Deep State is working overtime to remove President Trump from office.
  –
  Speaking at a National Press Club panel hosted by the George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government, Mr. Brennan applauded the CIA whistleblower and suggested others within the intelligence community were going to come forward:
  –
  “The reason why Mr. Trump has this very contentious relationship with CIA and FBI and the deep state people is because they tell the truth. Because they cannot be manipulated like clay in his hands. Because they will stand up and speak out when things are wrong.
  –
  “And they will tell him what the truth is. And the truth he fears because he has lived on anything but the truth, not just during his presidency, but even before that.
  –
  “So thank goodness for the women and men who are at the intelligence community and law enforcement communities, who are standing up and carrying out their responsibilities on behalf of their fellow citizens.
  –
  “So if he doesn’t use their intelligence, if he doesn’t use their contributions to this country’s security, well, bad on him. But our people who continue to fight the fight in the trenches here as well as overseas will do their work irrespective of what he is going to do or say about them.”

  But McLaughlin went even further with his “anti-Trump” comments. He led off by saying:

  “Thank God for the Deep State.”

  Then, Brennan’s predecessor as the head of the CIA went on to say the progression of diplomats and intelligence officers “trooping up to Capitol Hill” are doing their duty and “responding to a higher call.” He added:
  –
  “Well, think about it for a minute, with all of the people who knew what was going on here, it took an intelligence operative — officer to step forward and say something about it. Which was the trigger that then unleashed everything else. Why does that happen? I’ll tell American people why that happens, this is the institution in the U.S. government that, with all of its flaws and it makes mistakes, is institutionally committed to objectivity and to telling the truth. It is one of the few institutions in Washington that is not in a chain of command that makes or implements policy. Its whole job is to speak the truth. It’s engraved in marble in the lobby.”

  Former National Security Council Chief of Staff Fred Fleitz blasted McLaughlin’s comments as nicely as he probably could:

  “John McLaughlin, you’re a brilliant guy and I enjoyed working for you at the CIA. But I don’t think you realize how much damage you did to the intelligence community and its work force by saying, ‘Thank God for the Deep State.’ You comment confirmed the fears by many Americans that the intelligence community is actively working against President Donald Trump. You know this isn’t the case and that most intelligence community officers are nonpolitical. There also are many Trump supporters within the CIA and other intelligence community agencies. And where were you when the Obama and Clinton administrations were politicizing intelligence? Did you speak out in August 2016 when Sen. Harry Reid said intelligence community officers should give candidate Trump ‘fake intelligence briefings’?”

  But the Washington Examiner now reports both the whistleblower—identified Thursday as CIA analyst Eric Ciaramella—and the subsequent intelligence community whistleblower who purportedly corroborates his claims are no longer likely to testify to Congress. That report states, in part:
