Russia Says US Uses ISIS-Daesh to Maintain Presence in Syria

  Russia has accused the US of using the Daesh terror group to justify its military presence in Syria. Lavrov said the main remaining stronghold of Daesh in Syria is now located on the territory controlled by the US. He added that Washington apparently has a covert agenda in Syria. Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin also warned that Daesh was expanding its presence in the Syrian regions controlled by the US. Russia has been fighting Daesh terrorists in Syria at the request of the country’s government. Damascus, however, considers the US presence on its soil as illegal and an act of aggression.
