Trump Trying to Revive ‘Arab NATO’ to Counter Iran’s Influence

  It’s called an Arab NATO. The idea is an anti-Iran political and military alliance, to counter Iran’s influence in the region. To begin with, this alliance failed to even get off the ground the first time around, and was shelved. Now the US and Saudi Arabia feel it needs to be revived. Ironically, these countries are the same ones that are waging wars while blaming Iran for terrorism.

  Its called the Arab NATO. What is it exactly? That is one of the questions we’ll be asking in this debate. What is important that the idea, formulated by the US and its Persian Gulf Arab partners was proposed last year, but did not get off the ground. The reason it was formed: to counter Iran. Is Iran that powerful that it needs a grouping of countries to counter it, with US backing? And finally, is the US using this group to keep selling it arms?
