The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has strongly condemned Saturday’s deadly attack on a funeral ceremony in Yemen by Saudi warplanes. Ali Shamkhani described the US as a complicit in the crime. He believes Washington should be held to account over the incident as the Saudis are bombing the Yemeni people using American weapons. Shamkhani added that continued western arms sales to Riyadh enable the Saudi regime and the United Arab Emirates to push ahead with their aggression against Yemen. Iran’s defense minister has also condemned the Saudi bombing of the funeral in Sana’a. Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan said the quote-fanatic and aggressive regime of Saudi Arabia has committed an unforgivable crime by targeting the ceremony. Dehghan urged other countries to break their silence on the brutal attack. He says Saudi Arabia must be taken to an international court for committing war crimes in Yemen. Human Rights Advocate Fadi al-Qadi says the US and the UK are complicit in Saudi crimes in Yemen because they provide weapons that Riyadh uses to bombard Yemeni people.
