Israel keeps violating Syria’s airspace conducting fresh airstrikes on the Syrian army positions in the Golan Heights. Israeli forces have targeted the Syrian army’s artillery positions in the region located in the Quneitra province. Israel’s military says the raids come in response to earlier shelling of parts of the Golan Heights occupied by the regime. There are no immediate reports of casualties or material damage. This comes as the Syrian army troops are engaged in fighting with anti-Damascus terrorists in the Golan Heights a day after a truce deal came into force in the war-ravaged country. Earlier on Tuesday, the Syrian foreign ministry condemned the Israeli assaults on the Golan Heights in two letters sent to the United Nations chief and the UN Security Council’s president.

The Syrian foreign ministry also said the attacks on the Golan Heights had revealed the collaboration between Tel Aviv and terrorist groups, particularly Jabhat Fateh al-Sham formerly known as the Nusra Front. It urged the UN to adopt punitive measures against Israel to compel the regime to stop its support for terrorists and halt its aggression against Syria. Anti-Syria terrorists have in numerous cases been treated in Israeli hospitals built in the occupied Golan Heights. Israel occupied the region in 1967 and has ever since defied international calls to return the land to Syria.
