A hot debate is underway in the British House of Commons on the government’s proposed motion about bombing Daesh positions in Syria. The Leader of the opposition Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn says the government’s plan to join the campaign in Syria has no UN authorization. Corbyn says only a negotiated, political and diplomatic endeavor can bring an end to the conflict in Syria. British lawmakers for and against the bill put forward their opinions. Prime Minister David Cameron tries to garner as much support as he can. Parliament members are mainly concerned about the repercussions of the airstrikes in Syria. Opponents argue the airstrikes will make the situation in Syria more complex and fear there would be more civilian casualties. They are also worried the British pilots’ lives could also be at risk. Parliament members against the motion are angry at Cameron’s recent remarks calling them terrorists’ sympathizers and his refusal to apologize.
