Iran Calls for Muslim Unity to Thwart Israeli Plots Against Al-Aqsa Mosque

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said unity and solidarity among Muslims would thwart a plot by Israel to destroy the Mosque. The ministry reiterated Tehran’s full support for the Palestinian cause and nation. On the 46th anniversary of Israel’s burning of the al-Aqsa Mosque, Iranian Foreign Ministry also warned against Israel’s bid to change the demography of al-Quds and its project to Judaize the city. The statement further warned about raids on the al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Israeli settlers. The al-Aqsa mosque was set ablaze by Israeli forces on August 21st, 1969. The fire gutted the southeastern wing of the mosque.
