Russian warships from the Black Sea Fleet conduct missile and artillery drills in the neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Five warships, a missile cruiser, and three supply vessels took part in the drills. The drills included protecting convoys and repelling simulated enemy attacks. The vessel came to the region after a series of drills in the Atlantic Ocean. Earlier this year, Russian and Egyptian navies carried out joint military exercises involving F-16 fighter jets in the Mediterranean Sea. Russia and China also carried out joint maneuvers in the same area. According to the Russian Navy, up to 10 Russian warships and support vessels are permanently deployed in the Mediterranean Sea.
