Dozens of former senior US military officials urge Congress to ratify the outcome of nuclear negotiations between Iran and P5+1. In an open letter, three dozen retired generals and admirals described the agreement as the most effective way available to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. The former military officials demanded that the US lawmakers give diplomacy a change before supporting a military campaign against Iran. Last week, dozens of leading US nuclear scientists also hailed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as technically sound, stringent and innovative. The US Congress has threatened to reject the JCPOA under pressure from pro-Israeli lobby groups. US lawmakers have until September 17 to review the conclusion of nuclear talks between Iran and the P-five-Plus-One group.
