NATO Holds Emergency Session to Discuss Turkey Airstrikes in Syria, Iraq

  NATO has convened an emergency meeting in Brussels to discuss Turkey’s airstrikes on the ISIL and Kurdish positions in Syria and Iraq. The meeting was called by Turkey under Article 4 of the military alliance’s founding treaty. The clause allows NATO members to request a summit if their territorial integrity or security is in danger. Addressing the meeting, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the military alliance will stand firmly by Turkey in the face of QUOTE “terrible acts of terror.”
