UN Seeks to Blacklist Israel Over Killing Gaza Children

The United Nations is seeking to put the Israeli military on its blacklist. The ban has been recommended by the special representative of the UN Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict. Leila Zerrougui said such a measure must be taken because of some five-hundred Palestinian children who were killed and 3,300 others who were injured during last summer’s invasion of Gaza. Some observers believe UN Chief Ban Ki-moon would resist the call because the move could terminate the ties between Tel Aviv and the United Nations. Earlier, US Senator Lindsey Graham warned that American funding to the UN could be cut if the world body functions moves to marginalize Israel.
