Moscow: US Deployment of Nukes in Europe Against Non Proliferation Treaty!

  Russia has condemned the US deployment of nuclear weapons in Europe. Moscow says the move contravenes the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons or the NPT. Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Moscow has repeatedly warned NATO against such practices. Lukashevich accused US state department officials of misrepresenting facts by claiming that US nuclear weapons in Europe remain under US control and are never transferred. According to Moscow, NATO’s joint nuclear missions involve non-nuclear member states in joint nuclear planning and the practicing of skills to use nuclear weapons. Lukashevich highlighted NPT’s ban on nuclear states from transferring control of nuclear weapons to other parties. The treaty also prohibits non-nuclear countries from assuming such control either directly or indirectly.
