Friends of Syria, an anti-Assad militant group set up by former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and organized by Obama, has launched an attack on Dera armed with U.S.-supplied arms. Damascus, confirming the attack, said rebels include Jordanians, Lebanese and Saudis. Syrian media, quoting Jordanian news sources, said a U.S. airplane, loaded with fatal weapons, landed in Mafraq airport in Jordan to deliver the weapons to the armed terrorist groups in Syria.

Continuation of arming the rebels in the midst of peace talks was recently implemented as U.S. policy by Secretary of State John Kerry. Lyndon LaRouche has said that Kerry is not trustworthy, pointing out that he is an opportunist who will sometimes try to do good things if he can get away with it, but he is not an honest man. He’s simply not reliable, LaRouche stated. He smells like an opportunist.

Meanwhile in Moscow, National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces’ Chairman, Ahmed Jarba and secretary-general Badr Jamous met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today. Following their meeting Jarba said the opposition will be participating in the next round of Geneva II talks to attain a peaceful settlement to the Syrian situation as stated in the Geneva Communique of June 2012 and agreed upon by all participants in that international conference on Syria.

Foreign Minister Lavrov, calling on the United States and other countries able to influence the sides in the Syrian conflict, said: “We encourage our American and European partners, as well as the region’s countries to take such an approach. We are convinced that they also should work together with all of the sides in the Syrian conflict. I certainly mean political sides, not terrorist ones.” He also pointed out that Russia views the decision of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces to come to Geneva II as a confirmation of the coalition’s choice for a peace settlement of the Syrian conflict.
