Webster Tarpley: Repressive Al Saud Regime Relic of Feudal Barbarism!

An American author and historian says the repressive regime of Al Saud is a “relic of feudal barbarism” and one of the “most backward regimes” in the world, Press TV reports.
“I don’t know how they can do this with a straight face. An absolute monarchy, a relic of feudal barbarism, one of the most backward regimes in the world is going to give lessons to Syria, a much more advanced country,” said Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley in an interview with Press TV on Saturday, referring to a recent UN resolution on Syria.
On August 3, the UN General Assembly passed a non-binding resolution on Syria, proposed by Saudi Arabia, which criticized the Security Council and the Syrian government.
Russia and China condemned the resolution, which was passed by 133 votes to 12 with 31 abstentions, and said it undermined peace efforts.
Tarpley also stated that the situation in Syria could “get significantly worse and certainly the events at the UN General Assembly now have not helped matters.”
“I would point out that this resolution was actually… written by Saudi Arabia’s unbelievable piece of hypocrisy.”
The American author said some of the Persian Gulf Arab monarchs that “have been so eager to meddle and interfere in Syria and other countries, may soon find themselves very busy at home defending the existence of their dynasties, which I think are likely to come under attack as this crisis is driven to a more and more radical form.”
