  Anselm Rothschild famously said, “Give me the power to issue a nation’s money; then I do not care who makes the law.”  It looks like the bankers are taking control of the Eurozone with their latest bailout plan to “inject” printed money directly into the banks.  I guess this is one of the main reasons why Howard Buffett (Warren’s dad) said this decades ago: “The gold standard acted as a silent watchdog to prevent ‘unlimited public spending. Our finances will never be brought in order until Congress is compelled to do so. Making our money redeemable in gold will create this compulsion.” ” When you recall that one of the first moves by Lenin, Mussolini and Hitler was to outlaw individual ownership of gold, you begin to sense that there may be some connection between money, redeemable in gold, and the rare prize known as human liberty.
